At Georgia’s Chiatura mines a complete plant designed by allmineral is helping to process manganese ore to world market standard. With the turnkey processing plant, annual production is set to increase to 700,000 tonnes. The allmineral plant has a rated capacity of 200 t/h of manganese ore. Pivotal to the efficient processing are two alljig® jigs, one allflux® fluidised bed separator and one WHIMS high-intensity magnetic separator.

The feed material is first conveyed to a drum washer and sized using a vibrating screen. The screen overflow feeds manganese ore with grain sizes in excess of 20 mm to a cone crusher, where it is crushed and then fed once again to the drum washer. The screen underflow is channelled to a finer vibrating screen.

Manganese ore of less than 1 mm is fed to an allflux®-500 fluidised bed separator. The technology used for its flow and control equipment allows the fully automated production of three meticulously graded products from a single machine unit. Next a WHIMS G-2500 high-intensity magnetic separator with up to 18,000 Gauss separates the paramagnetic minerals from any weak magnetic minerals.

Feed material from the screen underflow with grain sizes between 1 mm and 5 mm is conveyed into an air-pulsed, almost entirely wear-free alljig® F2200x3000 fine jig. Manganese ore with grain sizes between 5 mm and 20 mm is fed from the drum washer via the coarser vibrating screen directly to an alljig® G1700x3000 coarse jig.

The alljig® jigs are a guarantee of extremely precise grading of the feed material – and not just in Georgia. Indeed the frequency and amplitude of the water pulsation can easily be adjusted and adapted during operation. The processing plant is designed to enrich the manganese content in the products to > 38 wt.-% for a metal yield of > 90 wt.-%.

alljig® – GENTLE ELEMENTAL FORCES
The water-operated alljig® jigging machine is efficient and reliable in operation. The alljig® fluidizes the feed material by pulsating water forming layers of grains according to their density and subsequently separates the heavy material from the stratified material bed.

Electronic sensors are used to automatically monitor and control the precise discharge of heavy particles contained in the feed. alljig® jigging machines create a physically stable and individually adjustable optimal jigging stroke at minimal energy consumption by means of air-pulsed water.

allflux® – THE LIGHTNESS OF BEING
The allflux®-process makes sophisticated use of the laws of physics: the method is based on the fluidized bed principle. The allflux® separator separates lightweight material made of fine-grained substances; e.g. sand. The allflux® treats the material in a two-step process, eliminating the need for pre-thickening. One single system combines high efficiency and high throughput.

The system is very simple: the allflux® generates an upward current in the coarse sand chamber. Light and fine particles rise while coarse, heavy particles sink and are drawn off. In the fine sand chamber, which is the second stage of the process, fine particles form an autogenous fluidized bed on which the lightweight material to be separated floats and spills over a weir. The fine sand product is discharged automatically from the bottom of the fine sand chamber. The flow and control equipment facilitates the generation of three highly selectively graded products by one machine. Process control is automatic.

The allflux® has a throughput capacity of up to 2,000 cubic meters per hour. A top size of up to four millimeters can be easily processed. The advantages of the allflux® have won recognition worldwide: sorting, separating, thickening and cleaning in one single step – the system speaks for itself. allflux® technology can be used for sand, coal, ore and mineral sands.

The two-step process permits the handling of slurries without pre-thickening. The coarse and heavy particles are separated in the coarse section. Fine material and low-density particles overflow the coarse separation section. In the peripheral fine section the separation of light particles from the fines and desliming takes place. Particles of a lower specific gravity than the fluidized bed will remain above the fluidized bed and will overflow with most of the process water to the overflow chute.

allair® – EFFICIENT AND ECO-SENSITIVE
The pneumatic allair® jig offers many of the functions of the water-operated alljig®. However its dry process requires air as pulsating medium only.

Particularly for coal producers, the allair® represents a unique innovation with regard to productivity and quality. From hard and brown coal, the system generates marketable products at the lowest possible cost using a dry process. Thus, coal that could not be utilized previously due to its ash or sulfur content can now be efficiently processed using the allair®system. This results in a direct increase in economically exploitable reserves and therefore in economical use of natural resources.

From hard and brown coal marketable products can be generated at minimum cost by using the dry process. Thus, coal previously unmarketable due to its high content of ash and/or sulfur can now be efficiently processed using the allair® system. This results in a direct increase in economically exploitable reserve and in consequence higher sustainability of natural resources.
